Choose the row before the engine
Toyota's 2015 table includes seven- and eight-seat versions. If second-row captain's chairs are essential, request interior photographs and grade paperwork; the badge alone does not prove that layout.

01 / UNDERSTAND THE MODEL
Toyota launched the redesigned Alphard in Japan on 26 January 2015. It kept the spacious three-row brief and added a new rear double-wishbone suspension. Toyota's launch table separates the 2.5-litre petrol, 3.5-litre V6 and 2.5-litre E-Four hybrid. The grade table matters: an X, S, G or Executive Lounge should not be described with a single universal specification.

The 2.5 petrol uses a CVT, the 3.5 V6 a six-speed automatic, and the launch hybrid has E-Four. An advert that just says ‘automatic Alphard’ leaves a consequential gap.
Toyota offered an Executive Lounge and grade-dependent camera, seat and parking features. Test every promised power seat, door and camera on the actual vehicle; do not transfer brochure options to a lower grade.
02 / DATED REFERENCE
These facts describe a dated Japanese release. A later update, a different grade or an individual imported car can differ.
Check the build date, Japanese grade, chassis/type code and fitted equipment. No engine, seating, drive or feature should be copied into a vehicle advert without matching evidence.
03 / VEHICLE CHECK
Use the guide to ask precise questions about a real car. Review its records and inspect the actual vehicle before a buying decision.
A USEFUL SOURCING BRIEF
Ask for a 30-series Alphard of a stated year range, petrol or hybrid, exact seat count and must-have cabin features. Attach documents for any proposed vehicle.
