WHY THIS CAR MATTERS

More than the badge.

When the GT-R returned in 2007, Nissan removed “Skyline” from the name. The R35 is a different proposition: VR38DETT V6, transaxle layout and immense all-weather ability. Early launch numbers should never be confused with later revisions or tuned examples.

Compared with the Skyline GT-R, the R35 feels wider and more composed. Its huge pace is easy to access; keeping that composure depends on tyres, alignment, brakes and correct driveline servicing.

Check tyre specification and matching wear across all four corners.
Budget for specialist servicing rather than treating it as an ordinary Nissan coupe.
