HONDA / FIT HYBRID RS / GP4 FAMILY

Small car.
Big character.

The GP4 generation facts and buyer checks that help you ask better questions.

01 / THE GP4 FAMILY

Honda's Japanese archive identifies the Fit Hybrid RS as part of the GP4 family. The range information below helps frame a search; a chassis plate, build record and vehicle paperwork are needed to establish an individual car's specification and history.

02 / WHAT HONDA DOCUMENTED

Hybrid with an RS brief.

Honda introduced the Fit Hybrid RS in May 2012 with a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine and IMA hybrid assist. Its archived 2013 catalogue lists front-wheel drive with either a six-speed manual or CVT. These are range-level possibilities, not a claim about any individual car's transmission.

The exact gearbox and fitted equipment of any candidate car should be checked against its chassis details.

03 / DO NOT CONFUSE THE NAMES

Different Fit. Different facts.

The Hybrid RS researched here is from Honda's earlier GP4 family. Our separate Fit RS GK5 model guide covers a later third-generation petrol RS. Its engine, gearbox and outputs must not be copied onto the GP4 car.

A Mugen badge or body part on any candidate car should be checked against its build and modification records.

04 / BUYER'S CHECK

Verify the individual car.

  • Ask for chassis code, registration/export history and matching build date.
  • Confirm transmission, actual grade and any modifications from records, not badges alone.
  • Inspect hybrid system health, service evidence, accident repairs and underbody condition.
  • Get an insurance quote and check UK registration and emissions requirements for this exact vehicle.

05 / THE UK DECISION

Why look closer?

A compact right-hand-drive hatch can be easy to live with while offering Japanese-market details worth exploring. Set it against other small imports such as the Toyota Aqua, and against a UK-supplied Jazz only after checking trim and powertrain differences.

This model guide is research, not a live offer or an assurance of current availability.

Sources and scope. Honda's 24 May 2012 Fit Hybrid RS announcement, archived 2013 grade catalogue and performance table were reviewed 4 October 2026. They establish Japanese range facts, not an individual car's ownership or exact options. Graphics on this page are original editorial illustrations, not vehicle photographs.
